Description of Project
Chaucer Consulting was engaged with one of the three major U.S airlines to provide Project Management, Planning and Support Services for the consolidation of HR Talent Management practices.
In recent years because of fuel costs, labour costs, aging fleets, FAA regulation adherence and increasing security concerns US airlines have experienced unprecedented downward pressure on profits. Requiring them to revaluate and adjust all business processes/procedures including those used to ensure an employee’s skills/talents are current, efficient and fit for purpose.
This evaluation of talent management processes required the modification, shifting, elimination and where gaps were identified creation of new TM processes. This had to be accomplished while adhering to Byzantine federal regulations and ensuring both project and later staffing resources were adequate.
Chaucer’s Scope
HR departments typically are not used to or setup to deal with major projects. Using our vast experience Chaucer brought focus and rigor to this project it to make it both successful and repeatable in the future. We did this by the application of PM practices in a light touch manner so as to have the least amount of impact to current operations while delivering a project that was on time and under budget.
